Description

This is another way to represent the data from the total lunar eclipse of January 20, 2019.

We are located in Glen Ellyn, IL, not at the center of the Lunar Eclipse shadow. Therefore the moon is brighter on one side during totality. And the darkest portion of the shadow moves across the face of the moon during totality. This image shows that movement.

The exact time of the start and end of totality is labelled on the image. It's a little small so as not to disrupt the aesthetics of the image. Click on the thumbnail to get the larger view and be able to read the times.

You might also go to the following URL to see an illustration of the shadow movement at our exact location. here is the link. https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/@z-us-60137
